I chose this image as one that would appeal to younger students. After touching up color in Camera Raw, I removed the chain (dog collar) in Photoshop. Text expresses the contrast principle in typeface. I also added a semi-transparent block behind the text to help it stand out.

After editing the image tone in Camera Raw, I added text and semi-transparent blocks in Photoshop. Again, contrast is expressed in the font choice. Font color is sampled from the image itself for subtle repetition.

Contrast:
I chose to contrast the color of the writing against the dark trees with light colored writing taken from colors in the sunset. Also, the two fonts are contrasting styles with one being much more elegant and one being fanciful, yet different.
Alignment:
Text is left aligned to make a strong statement. It also serves as an excellent location for the text to fit the shape of the trees.
Repetition:
Colors from the sunset are repeated in the font of the text. The ragged outline of the trees is repeated in the uneven right margin of the text.
Proximity:
I moved the quote text closer together, as suggested, to pull the message in closer. The author's name is set slightly away from the quote to show that it is a different part of the text.
